Course Information

If you want to turn your photographs into beautiful artwork in the styles of watercolors, acrylics, oils, chalk, and pencil sketches, this is the class for you.  Fran will teach you to start with a photograph and then use a combination of Corel Painter, Adobe Photoshop, and traditional hand-held artist’s brushes and materials to produce “paintings” that your customers will covet as art.  Fran will explain how to use the best features of all these tools in unison, to create your own unique masterpieces.

She will show you the origins in hand-painting of many modern digital techniques, giving you a greater understanding of the purpose and capabilities of the digital tools.  She will cover choosing the right photos to paint, deciding on colors, step-by-step instructions for using Painter software and its tools, and artistic techniques you need to create works of art. The class includes intensive hands-on exercises and practice.

This class is perfect for beginning and intermediate Painter users. For the most benefit, bring a computer loaded with Corel Painter X, and either (Photoshop 7.0 or above) or (Elements 7 or above).
