John"All I Know"

A Master Class with John Woodward

Unfortunately, we have cancelled this class. Please check the other classes.

We have come to a point in our industry where our competition is the sheer volume of photographers, created in the last decade.
The "Old Boy’s" network has given way to the tidal waves created by inexpensive equipment and digital manipulation.

Now more than ever you will have to be diverse to be a professional photographer.  The days of specialization are behind us.  Very few of us will survive with just one discipline.

Ultimately, lighting will be the key.
I will teach you how to light anything, anytime and anywhere.

As we begin the course, I will give you an opportunity to be honest with yourself in a demonstration titled "The Wheel of Self Assessment."
We have "artistic, technical, business and people skills," which need to be fully understood in the modern photographic profession.  I address all of these areas and help you understand how you can improve in any of them.

There is more to photography than lighting.  I can teach you everything about lighting, and in the end your photographs will still be amateurish if you don't understand composition.  To better help you understand why a photograph works, I'll offer "The Compositional Study Guide."
Our journey together will be best summed up as an effort to "eliminate variables."  Many of the variables are technical while others are purely aesthetic.  My course will help you purge anything which hinders you in your growth as a professional.
Photography has become much more than just the capture of an image.
I will offer "Digital and the Power of Raw."
This will be my effort to show you what programs like "Photoshop" and "CorelDRAW" can do after you have captured your image.  I will show you step by step techniques, which you can use immediately in improving and enhancing your final images.  We will learn about photo stitching and a way to “mine” the additional data out of images called "The Three Bears."
The importance of Color Management will be explained and demonstrated.
